HUNT NF1 foundation
Providing the support needed one soul at a time!

Our MISSION
NF1 Foundation Is a non-profit organization founded by Eric Hunt. Chicago native and survivor of NF1 disease. This site is dedicated to all those in need of funding for medications or counseling/therapy. We will provide a $250 grant for applicants to support their endeavors in paying for medications, or procuring therapy/counseling. NF1 is a genetic disorder characterized by the growth of benign tumors along the nerves in the skin, brain, and other parts of the body. It is caused by mutations in the NF1 gene, which produces a protein called neurofibromin that helps regulate cell growth. When this gene is mutated, cells can grow uncontrollably, leading to various symptoms. Symptoms: Light brown skin patches that often appear in early childhood, Benign tumors that grow on or under the skin or along nerves, tiny benign growths on the iris of the eye, especially in the armpits and groin. Bone abnormalities, learning disabilities, and hypertension.
